From the following table, write a SQL query to find the maximum purchase amount.
Sample table: orders
SELECT MAX (purch_amt) FROM orders;
Output of the Query:
The said SQL statement is used to retrieve the highest value in the "purch_amt" column from the 'orders' table. The "MAX" function is used to find the maximum value in the specified column.
The result of the query would be a single value representing the highest "purch_amt" in the 'orders' table.
