JavaScript: Check if a given number is even or not

JavaScript fundamental (ES6 Syntax): Exercise-202 with Solution

Check Even Number

Write a JavaScript program to check if a given number is even or not.

  • Checks whether a number is odd or even using the modulo (%) operator.
  • Returns true if the number is even, false if the number is odd.

Sample Solution:

JavaScript Code:

// Define a function 'isEven' that checks if a number 'num' is even
const isEven = num => num % 2 === 0;

// Test cases to check if numbers are even
console.log(isEven(3)); // false (3 is not even)
console.log(isEven(32)); // true (32 is even)
console.log(isEven(1)); // false (1 is not even)
console.log(isEven(0)); // true (0 is even)

Output:

false
true
false
true

For more Practice: Solve these Related Problems:

  • Write a JavaScript program that returns true if a given number is even, false otherwise, using bitwise operators.
  • Write a JavaScript function that determines evenness by checking the least significant bit of a number.
  • Write a JavaScript program that iterates over an array and filters out odd numbers using a custom even check.
  • Write a JavaScript function that tests a number’s evenness using both modulo and bitwise methods for comparison.

Previous: Write a JavaScript program to check if the first numeric argument is divisible by the second one.
Next: Write a JavaScript program to determine if the current runtime environment is a browser so that front-end modules can run on the server (Node) without throwing errors.
